Plastered Right.
Finished Flat.

We're based in Chelsea, MA and work across three states. In Massachusetts: North Reading, Wakefield, Burlington, Revere, Lexington, Newburyport, Georgetown, Lynnfield, Framingham, and Natick. In New Hampshire: Salem, Nashua, Pelham, Windham, Derry, Manchester, Seabrook, Hampton, Exeter, and Portsmouth. In Maine: Kittery, York, Eliot, Ogunquit, Wells, Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Biddeford, Saco, and Portland.

Drywall is board that gets taped at the seams, so only the joints are coated. Veneer plaster goes over blueboard and is troweled across the entire surface, which gives you a harder, more monolithic wall that resists dings and reads flatter under light. Older New England homes often have traditional plaster over wood lath, which is a third system again. We work in all three and will tell you honestly which one makes sense for your project.

Every space is different, so we don't quote from a price list. Cost depends on square footage, ceiling height, how much repair the existing surfaces need, whether it's a skim coat or a full hang-and-finish, and the level of finish you want. We give free written estimates with the full price up front — no hidden charges once we start.

Yes. We come out, walk the project with you, explain what the walls actually need, and give you a written estimate at no cost and with no obligation. Call (978) 751-0616 to schedule one.

We sand with vacuum-shrouded sanders connected to HEPA-filtered extractors, so the dust is pulled off the wall as it's created instead of settling through your house. It isn't literally zero dust, but it's a dramatic difference from traditional sanding — enough that most of our customers stay in their homes while we work rather than moving out for the week.

Usually, yes — and in an older home that's normally the better answer. Cracks, sagging ceilings where the plaster keys have broken from the lath, and crumbling patches can all be repaired and stabilized, then skim coated so the whole surface reads flat. Tearing out original plaster is expensive, messy, and often unnecessary. We'll tell you straight if a section is genuinely past saving.

Yes, and it's a large part of what we do. We cut back to sound, dry material, rebuild the area in board or plaster, blend it into the surrounding surface, and seal it with a stain-blocking primer so the mark doesn't bleed back through the paint. One thing first: the leak itself needs to be fixed and the cavity dry, or the repair won't hold.

A Level 5 finish means a thin skim coat over the entire surface, not just the seams. You need it when walls get raking light from big windows, when you're painting in satin or gloss, or when a large flat wall is a focal point — those conditions show every joint on a standard finish. For bedrooms and ordinary lighting, a Level 4 is usually plenty. We'll tell you which your room actually calls for.

No — that's our job. We move and cover furniture, mask floors, trim, and fixtures, and seal off the work area before anything starts. We clean up at the end of every day and do a full cleanup when the project is finished.

We're open Monday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and closed on Sunday. If you call outside those hours, leave a message and we'll get back to you the next business day.
